I was a Greyhound driver from 1961 till 1990. Drove out of Chicago, StLouis, and Detroit, and I retired working out of Bay City, MI. Recall a good number of different bus models from Silversides to MCIs.

Thanks much, Doug, for signing my guestbook. I always enjoy hearing from Greyhound-related people. My father started driving for the Hound in 1940 (the year in which I was born), and he continued until the mandatory retirement of 65 in 1977. He was based in Nashville, Tennessee, starting with what was then the Southeastern GL. I became hooked on everything about Greyhound longer ago than I can recall (at age 3). I often rode with him, mostly between Nashville and Chattanooga, especially during 1954-60, while the Scenicruisers were new. In 1961 I graduated from Vanderbilt University and sailed away as a Naval officer in the Submarine Service, so that ended my riding with him so often, but I still rode with him whenever I passed through town on leave from the Navy. You live in a beautiful part of Michigan. Enjoy life while you can! Thanks again for signing.
